LORENZO MODICA

Lorenzo Modica (Rome, 1988) holds undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and an MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. In addition to solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad (MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, Pastificio Cerere Foundation in Rome, Galleria il Ponte in Florence, Institut français Centre Saint Louis in Rome, ASC gallery and Spaceship/Dungeon/Zoo in London, Galleria Studio G7 in Bologna, Fondazione smArt in Rome) he is currently a professor of drawing and painting at the John Cabot University in Rome.

Between 2017 and 2019 he led various projects in the field of art education in the context of mental health institutions for youngsters and adults. Over the years he has created sculptural and sound installations, site-specific projects, prints, artist’s books, videos, placing paintings at the center of his practice and adopting an experimental and installative approach.
