On the initiative of the Comune and of the Città Metropolitana di Bologna, the innovative experience of Nuovo Forno del Pane – established at MAMbo - Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna in 2020 to cope with the Covid-19 emergency and support the artistic community by offering a production site – has expanded to the wider range of the six Cultural Districts of the Città Metropolitana. Nuovo Forno del Pane has established itself as a permanent project, addressed to artists from the national territory, which aims to support artistic production, fostering the development of creative communities and knowledge of the city territory.

The residency program of Nuovo Forno del Pane Outdoor Edition 2024 offers six artists, selected through a public call for proposals, the opportunity to develop individual and shared art projects while interacting with their hosting territory, for a period of time of three months. The possibility of living, working, producing artworks, interacting with the territory, and giving life to individual and shared art projects extends from the city to the wider radius of the six municipalities of the Cultural Districts of the Città Metropolitana di Bologna.

Each new edition will carry a message and an action within it, which will find its own stylistic signature and value in the chosen context and narrative structure.
